Position description
Position Summary:
Reporting to the District Customer Service Manager, this position resolves various issues with a varied customer base – municipal, residential and commercial. The candidate we select must be able to interact with a broad customer base and other departments within the organization, respond to customer inquiries regarding new service for temporary and/or permanent customers as well as closing and/or upgrading existing business opportunities. Using creative problem solving and negotiation skills on cancellation requests to resolve customer issues and retain positive relationships with existing customers. Prepares correspondence and fulfills needs to ensure customer satisfaction. Normally handles accounts with $200/month in revenue.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
* Evaluate customer issues/complaints – verify accuracy of complaints and correct problems.
* Performs a variety of duties and possess the ability to multi-task in a fast paced working environment.
* Maintain a high level of customer service satisfaction.
* Must consistently meet or exceed call volume goals
* Identify and resolve complex problems
Requirements Qualifications:
* High School diploma or General Education Diploma (GED);
* Minimum of two (2) years of customer service experience – preferably in the waste industry or equivalent work experience
* must possess knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices and procedures
* Must be able to rely on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the essential job functions of the job
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills and accurate data entry skills
* Must be proficient in Microsoft Office – Excel, Word, PowerPoint
* Must be able to use variety of office machines ie desktop computer, ten key calculator, etc
Work Environment:
This is an office position which requires sitting and/or standing for extended periods of time; dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard or mouse, as well as other computer components
