Responsibilities
Responsibilities:
Perform basic animal care duties according to SOP’s (change cages, feed, water, MI procedures, and room sanitation).
Maintain records.
Identify and communicate abnormal animal health concerns.
Identify appropriate caging and report all malfunctioning caging equipment.
Safely and correctly handle and restrain animals.
Document room logs, health information, and report daily findings.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED is required; 6 months of experience in an animal research facility required. Some animal care and handling of small animals (rodents) is preferred. . AALAS certification at the ALAT level at hire preferred or must obtain within one year of hire.
An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted as a satisfactory substitute for the education/experience listed above.
