Jaguar Land Rover Heritage is a newly established business unit that will protect, promote and profit from the heritage of the Jaguar and Land Rover Brands through vehicle re-creations, vehicle restorations, vehicle servicing, supply of Heritage parts, establishing an approved restorer/service network, and the full utilisation of the extensive Heritage Vehicle Collection. The Heritage organisation is one of the main pillars of the new Jaguar Land Rover Special Operations Division. The Special Operations Division operates almost as a “business within the business”, set up with a nimble, commercially minded outlook to leverage the value of our brands.
JLR’s purchase of the James Hull collection, comprising 543 vehicles and an extensive collection of models and
memorabilia, will provide an outstanding opportunity to promote the Jaguar and Land Rover brands, highlight the activities of the JLR Heritage Business and provide extensive commercial opportunities
What to expect:
The Operations Coordinator – Heritage Vehicle Collections will report directly to the Operations Manager – Heritage Vehicle Collections and be responsible for coordinating and supporting activities relating to the usage, maintenance, servicing, licensing and transportation of The Heritage Collection Vehicles. The position available will strengthen the department and the successful candidate will have a “once in a life time opportunity” to participate on a journey of incredible importance for the company. The successful candidate will work closely with the Heritage Vehicle Operations Technicians, Special Operations Marketing Team, Browns Lane Heritage Workshop Team, Heritage Parts Team, JDHT and James Hull Collection staff.
Key Responsibilities:
• Organise activities to carry out on-going servicing, maintenance and testing of vehicles in the Heritage Collections.
• Assist Technicians with servicing and preparation of vehicles for events as and when required.
• Ordering and collection of parts relating to above.
• Assist with the cataloguing of James Hull Collection and associated documentation.
• Carry out vehicle bookings and track their usage on JLR Fleet Management System.
• With users, arrange vehicle transportation to events in UK & overseas.
• Support events in the UK and overseas where required.
• Carry out invoicing of fee paying customers / internal cross charging & follow up on payments as required.
• With the Browns Lane Heritage, JDHT, & James Hull Workshop staff, maintain service, maintenance and restoration schedules for all the vehicles in the collection.
• Maintain detailed records of costs related to the above.
Candidate Profile
What you’ll need:
• The role is ideally suited to either a time served Motor Vehicle Technician with Heritage Vehicle and administrative experience or someone with an extensive applied knowledge of Classic Cars gained while working in this Sector.
• Knowledge of classic vehicle servicing, maintenance, transportation and operation.
• Experience of working on events related to the Heritage Vehicle Sector.
• Experience of working with vehicle fleets and their legal considerations
• A good working knowledge of Excel, Word and Google Applications.
• Candidates should be self-motivated, well organised with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels
