Position description

Stellar Recruitment are currently partnering with an international Oil & Gas business in the search for a General Manager Finance for a business critical residential role in PNG.

Based in Port Moresby on an expatriate salary package with secure family living arrangements and international schooling paid for by the business, you will provide important commercial support for the country operations.

Leading a team of 35, you will report to the EGM/ Country Manager and play a key role in the leadership group interfacing with the field based Oil Operations teams, commercial, legal and HR functions.

A broad role focussed on leadership, commercial strategy, continuous improvement and financial integrity you will be responsible for:

Leadership of the financial services and commercial functions
Preparation of annual budgets and quarterly forecasts
Management of JV Finance including billing, compliance and advice
Oversight of core accounting activities
Bi-annual statutory reporting, internal and external Audit
Managing liquidity of cash inflows and outflows
Long and short term economic and financial modelling
Reviewing and optimising cost structure of operational commercial agreements
Mentoring, coaching and developing staff and providing career opportunities
Championing and supporting the company HSE protocols

This is a career defining role that will give you a unique insight into this progressive company’s Oil & Gas Operations. As such, we are searching for established GM Finance / GM Commercial applicants who have an ambition to stay with the business for the long term stewarding sustainable growth and operational success from PNG operations.

As such, strategic leaders who are experienced in operating at the Executive level within the Oil & Gas or Resources industry are encouraged to apply. Your leadership experience of large teams (20+) within PNG or other developing countries (perhaps within Africa) will be fundamental to your achievement in this role alongside your CA/CPA qualifications and your emphasis on commercial, strategic initiatives that drive shareholder value.

Expatriate experience will be necessary to thrive in this challenging residential role in Port Moresby. Relocation and secure accommodation is provided but we will not look at any form of FIFO option or roster.
