Position description

Position Purpose

Provides administrative support required to manage Faculty of Social Sciences financial and physical resources. Reconciles business expenses monthly. Handles all purchases and financial transactions in assigned budget envelope as well as day-to-day resource administration. Is actively involved in all purchasing card transactions. Handles all Faculty purchasing tasks during absence of the administrative officer, Physical and Material Resources.

Essential Qualifications

Knowledge of and experience in financial management, administration, accounting and bookkeeping
Experience applying accounting control procedures
Experience analyzing budgets and reconciling accounts
Knowledge of purchasing policies and practices
Experience and skills in interpreting, communicating and applying policies and procedures
Organizational skills, with ability to manage deadlines and work independently
Experience using computer systems and software such as Banner, Windows, word processors, spreadsheets, e-calendars, databases, email and the Internet
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Bilingualism – French and English (spoken and written)
